We love to share our custom engagement rings with you, but one of our favorite things is also sharing their proposal/engagement story. For some reason it always makes me so happy and I get to do an even bigger happy dance when they are sweet enough to share the pictures with me.
FIRST OF ALL, THE CUSTOM ENGAGEMENT RING
Cyle called on me to design Sam’s custom engagement ringwhich I was beyond ecstatic to do. You see, Sam had worked for me when I lived in California and I always called her my little ray of sunshine. Of course, we met at the dog park and bonded over our love of all things furry. I loved her free spirit, her smile that was as big as Texas and her beautiful outlook on the world. She is one of my all time favorite people in the world. Truth.
So we went to work on getting Sam the perfect ring. She was in love with my Dahlilah Halo Ring but of course we had to make it just a bit more special. I thought that adding some beautiful floral touches and gorgeous trailing leaves would make it a little more “Sam” and a much more customized engagement ring.
Finding the perfect 1 ct. Oval diamond for this custom engagement ring was no small task. I literally went to the ends of the earth to find one that I felt was special enough for her.

THE DAHLILAH CUSTOM ENGAGEMENT RING WAS FINALLY DONE
Her custom engagement ring was finally done and I literally was jumping up and down when I saw it, it was that beautiful. It was now safely in hiding with Cyle. He wanted the proposal to be a complete surprise, which wasn’t going to be easy if you know my Sam. And also due to the fact that they weren’t even in the same city. Cyle plays professional baseball and he was at spring training camp. But he managed to pull it off perfectly and like a champ. It required some sneaky logistics and the recruiting of her Mom, but it al went off without a hitch.
THE PERFECT PROPOSAL
Sam had travelled to visit Cyle in spring training and her mom had come along to celebrate her birthday. Cyle had recruited Sams mom to get her up to Camelback mountain. She told her she wanted to snap a few photos and despite wearing heels, Sam agreed. After all, it was her Mom’s birthday so how could she say no?
Finally, she turned a corner and saw Cyle who was hiding behind a giant boulder, crouched down with a smile bigger than the sun on his face. Her eyes welled up and her heart nearly pounded out of her chest. He took her hand and led her to the top of the mountain where he dropped to one knee and proposed as the sun was going down. Lucky for us, he’s a pretty smart guy, and he had hired a photographer to capture the beautiful moment as the sun was setting over the mountain.
Sam not only loves her Rough Luxe custom engagement ring that Cyle designed for her, but even better, she gets to marry the man of her dreams. I gotta agree with you Sam. He’s a keeper. And I couldn’t be more happy for both of you.
